The Reading Room’s main internet is provided free of charge by Gigaclear.
Gigaclear have very generously given us a symmetric 900Mbps business broadband connection free of charge as part of there supporting the community.
The 900Mps service is not like most operators supply where they advertise a very high download speed and hide the much slower upload speed. This is 900Mps is in both directions. Even the home user service’s are symmetric and it does a make a difference particularly for real time events such as gaming and remote meetings.
This service is supplied through the Linksys mesh nodes, we have one in the main hall and one in the Kingstone room to give blazing fast internet throughout the building.
This internet is available to any user’s of the facility. If you wish to try for yourself we have a coffee morning most Fridays.
